On March 27, 2025, the family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron held a press conference to present evidence of alleged KakaoTalk messages exchanged between Kim Sae-ron and actor Kim Soo-hyun in 2016. These messages reportedly include intimate expressions such as, “I want to hug you, and I can do it whenever I want, no need to…”
The family’s disclosure has reignited discussions about the nature of the relationship between Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun. Previously, the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute released messages suggesting that in August 2018, Kim Soo-hyun asked Kim Sae-ron to delete their KakaoTalk conversations and switch to Telegram for communication. In response, Kim Sae-ron questioned, “Are you really going to delete all our conversations like this?” The following day, she attempted to call him, sending messages like “This is a call” and “Pick up.
Further complicating the situation, messages between Kim Sae-ron and her cousin were revealed, in which the cousin referred to Kim Soo-hyun as a “traitor.” In these exchanges, Kim Sae-ron expressed frustration over her agency’s handling of certain incidents and contemplated making aspects of her relationship with Kim Soo-hyun public.
In response to these allegations, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has denied pressuring Kim Sae-ron to repay debts and refuted claims about the nature of their relationship. The agency emphasized that they had not coerced her into any actions and challenged the authenticity of the messages presented.
The public remains divided over these revelations. Some question the timing and motivations behind the family’s disclosures, while others demand transparency and accountability from those involved. As the situation unfolds, it underscores the complexities of personal relationships within the entertainment industry and highlights the challenges in discerning truth amidst conflicting narratives.
