Messi speaks out after being suspended by PSG for skipping training to travel to Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi has broken his silence after being suspended by PSG for an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. In a post on his personal Instagram page, Messi explained, “I thought we would have a day off after the game as usual. I had planned a trip to Saudi Arabia that I had canceled before, but this time I couldn’t cancel it. Again, I apologize for what I did and I am waiting for the club’s decision.”

As we know, Messi was suspended by PSG for two weeks without pay for skipping training to travel with his family to Saudi Arabia on May 1. ESPN reported that PSG coach Christophe Galtier had informed the team that they would have two days off on May 1 and 2 if they won against Lorient last weekend. However, PSG lost 1-3, resulting in the team having to return to training on May 1.

After the incident, there were rumors that Messi and his father had made it clear to PSG that the Argentine superstar would leave the club at the end of the season, when his contract with the team expires. Sources also added that Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia had caused division in the PSG locker room, with some players not happy about the situation.

On May 3, hundreds of PSG fans gathered outside the club’s headquarters in Paris to express their anger towards Messi, as well as his teammate Neymar and club president Nasser Al Khelaifi. The Argentine superstar himself has had to endure boos and jeers from PSG fans in recent games.

If he leaves PSG this summer, Messi has no shortage of options. Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal club is willing to make Messi the highest-paid athlete in history with a salary of £320 million per year, nearly twice the £175 million per year that Cristiano Ronaldo is receiving at Al Nassr.

The Argentine superstar is also being contacted to return to Barcelona and move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami in the US
