Be careful, Lionel, on that watercraft! Messi and childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo share photographs from their Caribbean vacation, with Messi set to join Inter Miami soon

Lionel Messi will soon come in the United States to push soccer to new heights, but for the time being, he is resting on vacation in the Caribbean.

Antonela Roccuzzo, his childhood girlfriend, uploaded images of the soon-to-be Inter Miami star lounging on a beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Messi, 36, was also seen on a motorboat with Antonella; no doubt Miami co-owner David Beckham is hoping he doesn’t get too wild while on vacation.

Messi is on his way to Miami to continue his brilliant career in Major League Soccer.

He is likely to sign a two-and-a-half year deal with Miami, with an option for a third season, and will earn between $50 and $60 million per year.

Messi, 36, is resting up before joining MLS team Inter Miami later this season

Messi and Roccuzzo met as children and have three children together.

MLS went over and beyond to bring Messi to America, with adidas paying him for shirt sales and Apple giving him a percentage of the MLS subscriptions taken out in exchange for him joining.

Messi also indicated that the move will assist his family, who now live in Miami. Mateo, Thiago, and Ciro are his three sons from his marriage to Antonella.

The World Cup winner will be joined by two more players from his storied career.

Miami has already unofficially announced the signing of famed Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets on Instagram.

And defender Jordi Alba, who left Barcelona at the end of his contract this summer, is expected to join Miami as soon as Friday.

These are three eye-catching signings that will considerably increase MLS’s standing in the United States and around the world.

And they can’t arrive soon enough for Miami. The team is now in last place in the MLS Eastern Conference, nine points out of the playoffs.

Messi is expected to make his Miami debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul, following an introduction at the team’s stadium on July 16.
