I’m Proud to Be Part of That Movement”: Stephen Curry Lauds Athletes for Raising Voice Against Racism

Players from the world of NBA have responded assertively on the issue. Golden State Warriors scoring juggernaut, Stephen Curry talked in length about the ongoing protests at ‘The Silk Speaker Series’ at the University of San Francisco.

It’s an encouraging sight to watch sportsmen you look up to, actively taking part in protests against systematic racism and police brutality. The new times have seen players take additional steps and voice their opinions loud and clear. The other day Stephen Jackson was leading one of the protests and next day you see LeBron James holding his stance on Instagram.

Stephen Curry is proud to be part of ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement

Being one of the prominent faces at the current moment, Stephen Curry also believes ‘this generation’ can fly to change. “This generation I think and some of the young people that I’ve met at protests…They understand that this generation can be the change and can be the ones that plant their flag in the ground. That says, ‘We’re not going to accept this anymore and at all costs, it’s going to change.’”

Steph also participated in rallies and he feels ‘proud’ to be one of those involved in this movement. “This generation of athlete is very responsible and accountable…I’m proud to be part of that movement,” he told Dr. Clarence Jones.

When a three-time champion and two-time MVP becomes vocal about a certain cause, it surely impacts a large audience. He is a role model for many and as an eminent figure, he exhibited strength to all those working towards change. Well, he is not the only one. Kyle Kuzma, Kyrie IrvingRussell Westbrook, and many others have stood up for the right.
