Manchester United are chasing Arsenal striker Chido Obi-Martin – who has impressed with his incredible goalscoring ability at youth level.
Manchester United are actively pursuing one of the brightest young talents in English football , 16-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin of Arsenal. This information has caused a stir among experts and fans, especially when Arsenal is trying to keep this promising player.
Obi-Martin has caught the attention of the football world with his prodigious goalscoring ability at youth level. Last season, he set an impressive record of 32 goals in the U18 Premier League, breaking Folarin Balogun’s record.

Notably, Obi-Martin has had some incredible performances such as scoring 10 goals in a 14-3 win over Liverpool U16s in 2023, and 7 goals in a 9-0 win over Norwich.
The young striker has an impressive physique at 1m88 tall at the age of 16, combined with good technique and excellent finishing ability. These qualities have helped him average more than a goal per game for Arsenal’s Under-18s, scoring five hat-tricks in just nine games last season.
Manchester United are said to have offered Obi-Martin a private tour of their training facilities. According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are in the early stages of discussions about recruiting the player. If successful, Obi-Martin will join the MU youth team, and has a chance to be promoted to the first team if he impresses coach Erik ten Hag.

However, recruiting Obi-Martin is not an easy task for the Red Devils. Arsenal are trying to keep this young talent by making a new contract offer that they consider “fair”.
However, according to The Athletic, Obi-Martin appears ready to leave Arsenal once his apprenticeship contract ends.
Obi-Martin also has the added benefit of representing three countries at international level: Denmark, England and Nigeria. He has played at youth level for both England and Denmark, most recently representing Denmark at the European Under-17 Championship, where he scored twice and helped the team reach the semi-finals.

The Gunners will certainly be heartbroken to lose Obi-Martin. The club signed him from Copenhagen side KB in 2022, and he has quickly impressed in their youth system.
However, due to regulations that cannot provide professional contracts to players under the age of 17, Arsenal are having difficulty keeping Obi-Martin in the face of current “temptation” from Manchester United.
