Actor Tom Cruise is said to feel hurt when singer Shakira ignores him and spends time hanging out with legendary F1 racer Lewis Hamilton.

A close friend of Tom Cruise revealed to Radar Online that the actor was upset after hearing that Shakira rejected his feelings and instead chose to hang out with Lewis Hamilton – Tom’s close friend.

“His ego is bruised. The pain is all the more painful because Tom considered Lewis a friend,” the source revealed.

Tom Cruise and Shakira met at the Formula 1 race in Miami on May 7 – where Lewis Hamilton was competing. At the racetrack, the two stars walked together, took pictures with fans and chatted privately on the balcony of their hotel.

According to sources, Tom Cruise was “completely smitten” by Shakira and felt “there was chemistry between them” so he took it as a nudge to start dating. The 60-year-old actor is said to have sent flowers to the Latin singer and tried to flirt with her.

However, Heat magazine reported that Shakira had cleverly rejected Tom Cruise by telling his friends that she was not interested in dating. “Shakira didn’t want to embarrass or upset Tom, but there was no attraction or romance on her part. Shakira was just friendly during the meeting. She had a good time at the racetrack but wasn’t interested in him,” a friend of the singer said.

Meanwhile, Shakira has been hanging out with Lewis Hamilton since the Miami race. People revealed that the 46-year-old singer and the 38-year-old driver are in the early stages of getting to know each other and are spending a lot of time together. “They’re having fun and flirting,” the source said.

The Colombian singer was seen having dinner with Lewis Hamilton and a group of friends at the Cipriani restaurant in Miami on May 8. A few days later, the seven-time world champion came to Shakira’s villa to pick her up and take her for a walk around Biscayne Bay with some friends. In early June, Shakira went to the Catalunya racetrack to cheer on Hamilton. Afterwards, the two also went out to dinner with a group of friends. In the photo shared by singer Mustafa, the British driver has his arm around Shakira’s waist.
