We were already going to feature Ariana Grande’s Balmain look that she wore on The Tonight Show last night, but then she went and made herself go viral this morning by releasing her latest video, “The Boy is Mine” just a couple of hours ago. We thank her for the boost.

We also thank her for not wearing Glinda Pink. We’re going to continue pre-bitching about the upcoming Wicked poledance and how we strongly suspect both of its stars are planning to method-dress or cosplay through the whole thing. Yes, we’re getting worked up over nothing, but if there’s even the tiniest hint of a chance that we can scare their stylists off the idea, by God, we’re gonna take it. So let’s all lay it on really thick as we compliment this frock. Fortunately for us, we won’t have to bullshit. It’s genuinely super-cute and extremely well-suited to her, stradding the line between chic sophistication and the kind of girly-twee she favors. We don’t tend to love flower buttons or white pumps with black hose, but they both work for her and they both add the visual pop the outfit needs for TV. It’s a pretty great look.
