Jadon Sancho close to agreeing personal terms with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly look to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, with an agreement on personal terms close.

According to a report by reputed French journalist Santi Aouna on Foot Mercato, Jadon Sancho is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 champions are close to securing an agreement on personal terms with the Manchester United attacker, valued at €50 million. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is also a target for Barcelona and Juventus.

The Jadon Sancho story

Jadon Sancho has failed to live up to the billing since joining Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. The Red Devils chased him for a long time, and there was a lot of hype surrounding the Englishman three years ago. However, Sancho’s story has been one of inconsistency, lack of effort, and run-ins.

The latter happened in the early days of last season as a bust-up with Erik ten Hag relegated Sancho to the sidelines before Borussia Dortmund re-signed him on loan in January. The 24-year-old was decent for the Bundesliga giants, helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final with a solid showing in the continental competition.

Sancho has returned to Manchester United after his loan spells, with Erik ten Hag burying the hatchet with him. That has led to reports claiming the England international might have a future at Old Trafford. However, the player is a target for several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, with Manchester United slapping a price tag of €50 million on him.

A man in demand

Barcelona’s interest in Jadon Sancho is understandable. The Catalan giants have been scouring the market for an offensive reinforcement heading into the summer transfer window. However, a move for the Manchester United attacker will unlikely see the light of day, with Nico Williams being Barcelona’s priority target.

That boosts PSG’s prospects, with Les Parisiens presenting a contract proposal to the 24-year-old Englishman. The report has claimed that the Ligue 1 champions are close to securing an agreement on personal terms with Sancho. However, it is unclear how much PSG will offer to sign him from Manchester United.

With Manchester United demanding €50 million to part ways with the England international, a summer move to PSG might be possible as Les Parisiens can afford his asking price. It will be interesting to see if he lands at Parc des Princes in the coming weeks.
