LEBRON James raised the American flag in the pouring rain while he was on a boat with his fellow USA Olympians – and fans have joked about the image on social media.
The NBA superstar and the US Olympic members appeared on a boat during the Olympics ceremony on the River Seine in Paris.

LeBron was seen hoisting the US flag while the boat was moving down the river, eventually landing at the Trocadéro near the Eiffel Tower.
And it’s safe to say fans had their fun with the image.
Users on X noticed that the visual of the Los Angeles Lakers icon reminded them of the legendary painting of George Washington riding with his troops while crossing the Delaware River in 1776.
“I’m telling my kids this was George Washington crossing the Delaware,” one fan commented.
“This is giving George Washington crossing the Delaware vibes,” another wrote.
Others were impressed with LeBron’s flagbearer performance in the heavy rain.
“Possibly the most majestic clip to ever hit television: LeBron with the American flag in the pouring rain,” a fan added.
“I love this,” a fourth stated.
LeBron rocked sunglasses and a white Ralph Lauren jacket for the special occasion.
The 39-year-old wasn’t the only flagbearer for the US Olympics.
Tennis star Coco Gauff was also given the tremendous task.
The Paris Olympics will be the fourth time that LeBron will compete in the legendary games.
“I think what’s different is always a new experience,” A new group guys – some guys have never been Olympians before so you want them to see the whole moment of being here in Paris,” LeBron said to Team USA on the boat.
“It’s a great opportunity for myself to continue to inspire the next generation and I’m super excited to be here.

“I’ve been a part of the Athens games, the Beijing games, the London games and now the Paris games, and they’re always special in their own right.
“It’s 2024 and it’s another special moment, not only for this country of France but also for us other Olympians who are here competing for the United States of America.”
He and the Team USA basketball team eventually took their talents to the Opening Ceremony at the stadium in Trocadero.
