On the afternoon of July 25, MU officially launched the away kit for the 2024/25 season. The shirt has a navy blue main color with repeated patterns on the front and back.

The three signature Adidas stripes run down the sleeves alongside the club’s new sponsor Snapdragon, the Adidas badge and the Manchester United logo.

According to Adidas, the repeating motifs on the navy blue background pay tribute to the rivers that run through the city of Manchester (Ahh), including the Irk, Medlock and Irwell.

“Every season, we launch a jersey that is closely linked to the history and culture of the local area where the team operates,” said Sam Handy, senior vice president of product and design at Adidas.

And with this new Manchester United away shirt, we wanted to honour the three rivers that run through the city of Manchester.

In addition to its historical value, we have also combined modern details to help this shirt stand out on the streets, in the stands and on the pitch.”

At the new jersey launch, a series of MU stars attended, such as Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho.

Notably, MU’s new away kit has many similarities with Chelsea’s traditional home kit, also using navy blue as the main color. And on social networks, fans also recognized this similarity.

A fan commented: “The shirt is from MU but it looks very Chelsea. If you don’t see the MU logo, everyone will think this is Chelsea’s home shirt.”

“ Mason Mount is back at Chelsea. He debuted the new Blues home kit,” another joked.
