In the wilds of Africa there is always the potential for the fiercest fighting.
It can be hunting wars, fights for territory, mates… or fights to protect their own kind from notorious predators.
The nature of hunting wars or territorial disputes always reveals the wildest and fiercest aspects of the animal world. In the fight to protect their own kind, what viewers feel is the effort, solidarity, and bravery of weaker species. Despite being threatened, they still dare to stand up and fight for the survival of their comrades.
Like the story adapted through the clip recorded in Kenya will show us the great spirit of the warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) when daring to fight back against the leopard (Leopard), an experienced hunter in Africa.
Warthogs are omnivorous animals commonly found in the savannas and jungles of Africa.
This animal has an ugly appearance, an average height of about 60-80 cm, weighs about 50 kg, and is characterized by a pair of long, sharp, curved fangs.
With their tusks, warthogs can be used to defend against ferocious predators as well as to attack other smaller animals.
Their food is diverse, from vegetables, fruits to insects, mushrooms… If they accidentally come across a leftover animal carcass, warthogs are ready to devour it all.
They are the favorite prey of animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, wild dogs…
In the clip, it can be seen that warthogs have become the leopard’s favorite prey, whether they are piglets or adults. However, at the end of the clip is an interesting scene.
Accordingly, a 13-year-old leopard, experienced in all the tricks of life and extremely hungry, was there. The inertia of old age did not allow the leopard to freely chase and catch prey like when it was young. Instead, it spent almost all of its time lying on a tree, observing and waiting for the right moment.
Mother warthog and her cubs caught in the leopard’s sight.
Finally, it chose a herd of warthogs consisting of a mother and her young.
To facilitate the hunt, the leopard left its observation spot and hid in the nearby bushes. The leopard’s patience was rewarded, a small warthog accidentally wandered into its hiding place.
Of course, the leopard did not hesitate to punish the unfortunate stray. However, because it was standing at a close distance, the mother pig immediately jumped in to help. The leopard’s thoughts of getting an easy meal quickly disappeared after the mother boar’s fierce response.
Warthogs have the advantage of being able to run at extremely fast speeds, up to 48 km/h when they detect an enemy.
The mother pig struggles to rescue her baby from the predator’s claws.
Charging at high speed and using its sharp tusks as a weapon, the boar knocked the predator into the air to create space for its cubs to escape.
But racing with a leopard is never a good idea, with hunger pangs not allowing the leopard to pass up a tasty prey. It only took a few seconds, despite the mother pig’s efforts, for the leopard to successfully catch the prey and carry it to a safe place to eat in the tree.
