Manchester United enters the competitιon foɾ RB Salzburg ρlaymaker Oscɑɾ GƖoukҺ foƖlowing Brighton’s defeat

Reports have suggested that Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are all interested in signing Oscar Gloukh of Red Bull Salzburg.

The Austrian club have been courted by a swarm of top-tier rivals since the 19-year-old signed with them six months ago during the January transfer window.

Gloukh, an attacking midfielder, developed his skills in the youth system of the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Salzburg purchased the adolescent for £6 million after interest from Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and Ajax; but, as Gloukh noted at the time, Barcelona’s offer arrived just a hair too late.

“They came back after we had already closed the Salzburg deal, which was disappointing,” Gloukh added, “but I was very excited that (Barcelona) wаnted me.” I’m confident that picking Salzburg over Barcelona was the best option. For my growth as a player, it makes more sense.

According to the Sun, though, he may be getting ready to go on once more because Premier League clubs sent scouts to monitor Gloukh while he was on international duty.

The midfielder was a last-minute selection for Israel’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Romania and he delivered with the game-tying goal in the 53rd minute.

This summer, the youngster excelled for his country at the Under-21 European Championships, where they advanced to the semifinals. He was also voted youngster of the Match in a victory over the Czech Republic in the group stage.

Gloukh has played in eight games for Salzburg this year, contributing to one goal and three assists.

If Manchester United’s goal drought continues into the next transfer window, the club may be eager to sign the youngster.

After losing to Arsenal and Brighton by scores of 3-1 in consecutive games, Erik ten Hag’s team has struggled to get its 2023–24 campaign off the ground.

After a 31-match unbeaten streak at Old Trafford came to an end with a 1-0 loss to the Seahawks on Saturday, Ten Hag will have enough to think about heading into Wednesday’s Champions League showdown against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
