As MASON Greenwood practices with his new team, his new manager has dismissed worries over the “controversial” signing.
The 21-year-old striker, who earns £75,000 per week, joined the Spanish team just hours before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Getafe later posted a number of films showing Greenwood’s introduction and this week’s training session with his new teammates.
Although the signing occurred just days after he “mutually agreed” with Manchester United to rebuild his career away from Old Trafford, the Spaniards have been criticized as “tone deaf” over it.
Getafe president Ruben Reyes recently asserted that Greenwood’s signing is “just the same” as the club’s other acquisitions.
“We did what we do, sign players who are available to sign,” he continued.
We don’t need to deal with anything, anyway. We have only signed a football player who is identical to Diego Rico and Oscar Rodriguez.
We must perform our duties, thus that is our main concern.

“We’re very excited with him,” Mr. Reyes continued. He was a player we were aware existed. We worked on it, accumulated data, and gradually realized that there might be a chance.
“We spent a lot of time talking to his family, his father, and his people. He was persuaded to come here and to put his faith in us by us. We’re content.
He acts like he’s on a school playground while he plays carefree. He is quite accomplished. Sometimes dreams come true, like the time we brought him here.
As Greenwood was introduced on Tuesday night, he was spotted posing for pictures with kids and signing shirts.
I have been training for four or five months now, so I am coming up to speed, he told a group of cheerleaders.
“My crew and I have been working out, and I feel excellent.
“We take each game as it comes. I know the next home game is quickly approaching. We’ll try to win it and give it our best effort.”
Today, the striker was spotted working out with weights and a resistance band among his teammates.
On September 17, Getafe will play Osasuna at home.
However, given that Greenwood hasn’t been on the field since January of last year, it is highly improbable that he is game-ready.
