Hearing that UFOs and aliens revealed “shocking” secrets, aliens once landed on earth and may… see more

On November 13, the US House Committee on Unidentified Anomalies (UAP) held a hearing to hear from several witnesses about what they saw and heard about UFOs (unidentified flying objects) and aliens.

Condemning the UAP culture of secrecy

The hearing, titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” opened with Rep. Nancy Mace, chairwoman of the Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation, outlining its goals including learning the extent of Pentagon programs investigating UAPs and any information that may have been collected about alien life or technology of non-human origin.

Americans always believe that the Government and the Department of Defense are hiding secrets about UFOs and aliens.

Mace argues that there is a lack of trust in agencies including the US Department of Defense due to unclassified entities.

“I won’t name names, but there are some individuals who don’t want this hearing to happen because they’re afraid of what might be revealed,” said Rep. Nancy Mace.

“As we continue to investigate these phenomena, we must do so with the mindset of protecting our country, advancing scientific discovery and maintaining the trust of the American people, who I think right now have no trust, that’s obvious,” said Glenn Grothman, R-Wisc. “I have no trust.”

Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., also pointed out that the lack of official information has pushed UFOs and UAPs to the sidelines.

“The lack of information has created conditions for conspiracy theories to thrive,” Moskowitz said.

Retired Navy Rear Adm. Timothy Gallaudet said in his opening remarks at the hearing that he first learned about UAPs during his career as a Navy meteorologist and objected to keeping UAPs secret.

“We should face this new reality boldly and learn from it,” Gallaudet said.

He also said he felt a moral obligation to speak up and ensure the credibility of those who have spoken out about their UAP experiences, many of whom have faced ridicule for their statements.

Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon employee, has accused a small group of people in the government of hiding the truth about UAP from the public.

“Excessive secrecy has led to serious misconduct against loyal civil servants, military personnel and the public, all in an attempt to conceal the fact that we are not alone in the universe,” he said.

Contrary to the above allegations, the US Department of Defense has repeatedly denied the existence of UFOs or aliens.

A report from the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which investigates UAP reports for the Department of Defense, said most UAP sightings are misidentifications of drones, natural phenomena, or classified technology.

But Michael Shellenberger, founder of the Substack newsletter “Public,” pushed back against the claim, saying: “The Pentagon, the intelligence community, are treating us like children. It’s time we knew the truth about this.”

Will Donald Trump bring transparency?

US Presidents Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have all admitted to being briefed on the subject of UFOs.

In 1948, after a series of UFO sightings, including the famous Roswell incident in 1947, President Harry Truman pushed for more investigation into UFO sightings, although his concerns may have stemmed from the Cold War arms race as much as interest in contact with extraterrestrials.

At least one president has had a closer encounter with mysterious objects. President Jimmy Carter observed an unidentified object in the sky one night in 1969.

Carter recorded the incident shortly before he ran for president. However, in 2016, a researcher explained that Carter’s sighting was a barium cloud from a high-altitude missile.

President Ronald Reagan also had an unexplained encounter with an object following his plane in 1974. He later asked Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev whether the Soviet Union would come to the aid of the United States in the event of an attack from outer space.

“Many presidents over the decades have promised to get to the bottom of the UFO mystery, but all have failed miserably,” says NewsNation journalist Ross Coulthart.

President-elect Donald Trump has said he supports transparency on the subject of UFOs but has not necessarily expressed a deep interest in the subject.

In a conversation with his son, Donald Trump Jr., Trump said he knew about the UFOs allegedly collected in Roswell in 1947 but refused to share what he knew.

It is likely that Mr. Trump will not be fully briefed on UFOs, especially given his history of handling classified information and concerns that he would violate national security.

“We should take Donald Trump’s words with a grain of salt,” said Ross Coulthart.
