“I hate Taylor Swift !” – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social on September 15.
Mr. Trump posted the above article in all capital letters. He did not provide any comment or explanation.
Mr. Trump’s statement came less than a week after American singer Taylor Swift publicly endorsed and will vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election.
The pop superstar expressed his support for Harris after the first debate between Harris and Trump on September 10. The two candidates faced off on the debate stage in Philadelphia, talking about issues such as abortion, immigration, the economy and foreign policy.
“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz (Democratic vice presidential candidate) in the 2024 presidential election,” Taylor Swift said in an Instagram post.
“I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she’s a strong, capable leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we’re led by calm, not chaos,” the “Love Story” singer explained.
According to AFP, Taylor Swift has more than 400 million followers on Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms. About 10 million of them have “liked” her Instagram posts.
It is unclear what Mr Trump hoped to achieve with his latest post. Earlier, in response to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Ms Harris, Mr Trump – who has 7.71 million followers on Truth Social – said he was “not a Taylor fan”
