It seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in the process of rebranding themselves. Not only do they have a new website, calling their children Princes and Princesses, but they are also reusing Meghan’s royal insignia. This has surprised the British public because Harry and Meghan have long since left the Royal Family.

Meghan will not return to England with Prince Harry

When Harry and Meghan had their first son, he was named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. But recently, Harry and Meghan officially used the surname Sussex for both their children, Archie and Lilibet, according to The Times, and was also published in many other major British newspapers.

News of Harry and Meghan changing their baby’s name came shortly after the couple replaced their old website (Archewell) with a new one, Sussex.com.

The couple’s return to the names associated with the British Royal Family (Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) surprised many people in the UK because Harry and Meghan have long shown that they can live completely independently from the Royal Family.

According to the Independent, the decision to change the surname of Harry and Meghan’s children broke a tradition since 1960 that Queen Elizabeth II’s descendants would carry the surname Mountbatten-Windsor.

But British Vogue explains that changing the children’s surnames like this is still in accordance with the rules. Because when King Charles III ascended the throne, Archie and Lilibet moved up in the line of succession so they could be titled Prince and Princess of Sussex, following their parents’ titles.

But what made the British media and public most upset was that on the website Sussex.com, Harry and Meghan reused the badge that the British Royal Family had previously given Meghan to recognize her as a member of the Royal Family when she married Prince Harry.

When Harry and Meghan left the British royal family in 2020, Queen Elizabeth II asked them to no longer use their royal titles. In the following years, the couple used the name Archewell on their website rather than Sussex.

But now, Harry and Meghan are using names that everyone knows are related to the British Royal Family, and are using the insignia of a bride who has left the Royal Family and no longer does Royal work, making the British public unhappy.

However, fans of the couple believe that Harry and Meghan only use the word Sussex to represent their whole family, instead of the word Archewell which seems to only be related to the eldest son (Archie).

And anyway, Harry and Meghan’s new website doesn’t mention the British Royal Family, so it can’t be said that they want to show their intention to return to the Royal Family.
