According to Erik ten Hag, Rasmus Hojlund is ready to start for Manchester United against Arsenal on Sunday after overcoming a back ailment.
WHAT HAPPENED? Hojlund will be on the team and perhaps even start at the Emirates Stadium, according to the United manager. The Dutchman also disclosed that Sergio Reguilon, who had been signed on a loan from Tottenham, had already trained with the first team and would be traveling with the group to London.
WHAT THEY SAID:Yes, we had a successful training week, Ten Hag said during a news conference on Friday. “He’s responding well, and he’s available for Sunday,” he added. “I believe he is prepared to begin.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE:Hojlund was United’s most expensive acquisition of the summer after the Red Devils decided not to bid for Harry Kane. He joined from Atalanta for £72 million. He did, however, arrive with a back ailment and has thus far been unable to participate in any games.
AND WHAT’S MORE: Ten Hag described Reguilon as “very experienced” after signing him on a loan. He said, “He’s played for big clubs a lot of games, La Liga, Premier League, he has a very good background. He played for Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Atletico.” He is a fierce football player.
