On December 9, NBC News reported that rapper Jay-Z (Beyoncé Knowles’ husband) was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, along with tycoon Diddy, in 2000. The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District Court of New York (USA) in October, only named Diddy as a defendant. However, the additional documents on December 8 (US time) added Jay-Z’s name.

The unnamed accuser said the attack occurred after she was taken to an after-party for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. According to the woman, she was approached by Diddy’s driver and invited to the “rap mogul’s” party. 

She was then taken to a white house. Before she could go inside, the woman said, she had to sign what she believed was a nondisclosure agreement about the party, which was attended by many celebrities and involved drug use. 

“A friend drove me to the awards at Radio City Music Hall. I didn’t have a ticket, so I tried to get into the show or the after-party by asking the driver. The driver said he worked for Diddy and invited me to his party. I didn’t know I was falling prey to them,” he said. 

The woman said she was offered a drink that made her dizzy. She was taken to a private room with Diddy and two other celebrities, including Jay-Z. She said two men attacked her while the other just stood by and watched. 

Jay-Z’s attorney did not respond to requests for comment. However, the famous singer shared his views on the incident via the X (formerly Twitter) account of his entertainment company Roc Nation. 

Beyoncé Knowles’ husband has denied the allegations and accused Tony Buzbee of trying to blackmail him. Tony Buzbee is representing 120 victims in lawsuits against singer Diddy.

“As a public figure, I must speak out about the incident and expose your fraudulent behavior. The accusations you have leveled against me are so vicious that I am asking you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil complaint as is currently the case. Anyone who commits a crime against a minor must be detained,” Jay-Z’s side said. 

The Grammy-winning star has been heartbroken over negative reports about his family that have been circulating in the media.

“I am really hurt. My wife and I will have to sit down with our children. My children’s friends will read this in the newspaper and question the allegations that stem from the greed and cruelty of some people. My children do not deserve to suffer like this,” he said.

Last September, Diddy was arrested for investigation of allegations of sexual assault and prostitution. Diddy reportedly offered to pay $50 million (VND 1,200 billion) for bail but was refused. The famous star is currently being held in a prison in New York (USA) and will continue to appear in court in May next year. 

According to international media, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are being severely affected by Diddy’s sex scandal. The famous couple are influential stars in the international music industry and have a close relationship with Diddy. 

They were also frequently seen at Diddy’s parties, which are believed to be where Diddy’s crimes were committed.

After Diddy’s arrest, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s personal pages reportedly lost nearly ten million subscribers. They also faced a wave of criticism from a segment of global fans. 

In response to the negative allegations, Beyoncé and Jay-Z did not speak up to explain, but threatened to sue those who spread unverified news .

According to People, Diddy is considered one of the pillars that helped singer Beyoncé’s career become as successful as it is today. Beyoncé is the artist with the most Grammy awards in music history with 32 awards.

Billboard ranked Beyoncé 37th on its list of the greatest artists of all time. Forbes estimated Beyoncé’s net worth at $760 million as of last May.
