Producer Scooter Braun said that the conflict with Taylor Swift has been going on for many years, it’s time for the public to stop talking about the past.
According to Variety , Scooter Braun attended the Bloomberg Screen event in Los Angeles on October 8 and mentioned the “original recording copyright feud” with Taylor Swift in 2019. This conflict was turned into the documentary Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood , released in June. Braun said he watched the film because his parents suggested it.
The producer said: “I didn’t plan to watch it because I thought it would be like other shocking works. I mostly ignored those things, but my parents called me and said they had just seen it. They thought I should be interested in the film. So I watched it.”

Taylor Swift’s former manager said that since it’s been five years since the dispute, fans should stop talking and move on. On the other hand, he commented that there were some misinterpretations in the documentary. Braun explained: “I think in any conflict, it’s important to talk to each other directly. Social media or in front of the world is not the right place to argue.”
According to the producer, he and Taylor Swift have not had a direct conversation with each other. “When everyone took the time to meet in real life and confront each other, they realized that the ‘monster’ was not real and the conflict may not have happened,” Braun said.
In the same interview, Scooter Braun said he has no plans to return to artist management. However, if he were to return to his old career, he would like to work with a “big star” like Taylor Swift. He did not elaborate, but commented that Swift is “one of the artists worth betting on” because she has always been persistent and dedicated to the music industry.

In 2019, Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift were embroiled in a copyright dispute over master recordings after Braun acquired Big Machine Label Group (Swift’s management company from 2006 to 2018) for $300 million, gaining the rights to purchase and release Taylor Swift’s first six albums.
The deal cost her the chance to reclaim her songwriting rights, which had previously been at odds with her. The singer called the sale a “worst-case scenario” in a statement on her personal page, announcing that she would reclaim her song rights by re-recording her albums. Since 2019, Swift has released four of her six albums under the Taylor’s Version label . She has also added previously unreleased songs to her From the Vault Tracks section .
“I want to own my music and I believe that any artist who wants to do that can,” Swift told the audience during the Minneapolis leg of The Eras Tour in 2023. At that time, she had just released her third re-recorded album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) .
