Selena Gomez may not be in the upcoming “Barbie” movie, but she’s showing her support for the cultural Barbiecore phenomenon with her latest manicure. The singer shared a look at her pink Barbie nails on her Instagram Stories on July 16 and her manicurist Tom Bachik gave the scoop on the exact polish he used.
In the photo, Gomez can be seen clutching a Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm ($20) against her baby pink floral dress. Tagging Bachik, her long-time go-to manicurist, he later shared the full rundown of what went into creating the look, divulging all the details.
To start, Bachik shaped the nails using the Tweezerman x Tom Bachik Nail Travel Set ($60). Then, to give Gomez a little extra length, he used the Aprés Maisie Stiletto Gel X Tips ($15) and filed them into a soft “ballerina” shape. According to the pro, Aprés Nail Gel Polish in Sweet Cheeks ($14) is the color the duo went with. Rather than Barbie’s quintessential hot pink, it’s a brighter dark pink but still on-theme nevertheless. It’s unclear exactly what the occasion was of the all-pink look, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the star was just feeling inspired by Margot Robbie’s recent press tour.
