After much uncertainty over whether he would be reinstated into the first team squad at United, Greenwood signed Getafe on deadline day in September.
Greenwood was picked to the team for the next weekend despite manager Jose Bordalas’ insistence that he would need to wait before making his debut.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Bordalas revealed that Greenwood needs a ‘period of adaptation’ before Sunday’s league encounter against Osasuna.
He remarked, “It’s a big hope, and everyone’s looking forward to meeting him. He has been out of action for over a year and a half due to unemployment, and is currently undergoing the process of readjusting to his new environment and catching up to his teammates.
We need to be careful and gentle with him. When he is ready to compete will become clear as the days go by. Patience is required.
